What PingWing is

PingWing is a flight tracking, alerting, and travel logbook service. It saves the flights you choose to follow, can notify you through push or Telegram, and builds a history of completed trips in your account.

Data we collect

  • Account information — name, email address, and profile photo obtained from Google Sign-In or Telegram login when you create an account.
  • Flight tracking data — the flight numbers, dates, and saved trip history you choose to track, including logbook summaries generated from completed trips.
  • Push notification subscription — a browser-generated endpoint URL required to deliver web push alerts to your device. No device identifiers are stored.
  • Telegram identity — your Telegram user ID and username, used solely to send flight alerts via the PingWing bot.
  • Alert delivery logs — a record of alerts sent (type, channel, timestamp, success/failure). Retained for 90 days for debugging purposes.
  • Analytics — anonymous usage data via Google Analytics and PostHog (page views, feature interactions). No personally identifiable information is shared with these services beyond a pseudonymous user identifier.

How we use your data

  • To send you flight status alerts on the channels you have enabled.
  • To authenticate you and maintain your account session.
  • To improve the service via aggregated, anonymised analytics.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third-party services

  • Google Sign-In — used for account authentication. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Telegram Login Widget — used to link your Telegram account. Governed by Telegram's Privacy Policy.
  • FlightAware AeroAPI — the source of all live flight data. No personal user data is sent to FlightAware.
  • Google Analytics & PostHog — anonymous usage analytics. IP addresses are anonymised.

Data retention

Your account and tracked flights are retained for as long as your account is active. Alert delivery logs are retained for 90 days. If you delete your account, all associated data is removed within 30 days.

Your rights

You can stop tracking any flight at any time from your Flights page. You can unlink Telegram or revoke push notification permissions from your Account page. To request full account deletion or a copy of your data, contact us at the address below.

Cookies

PingWing uses a single authentication cookie (pingwing_auth) to keep you signed in. No third-party tracking cookies are set by PingWing itself.
